The Bell

The first belfry of old church

Their are some interesting story concerns to church's belfry and the sacrifice of catholics unity in old day.

In the time of Indochina war, 1940. Debating between Thai and France about Indochina Peninsula. Thai government command all French to exile. At Saint Roch, church and school are in effect because it belong to Frenchman. School close by official order in allegation of "meeting place" with the rumor to unhitch the bell. That drive some mans set groups to guard at church in night time with their weapons <in early day, catholics always been exploit by other religious>.

They make a pit to hide below church and under Pastor's house. This takes about one month until a situation be better. But just a week later, the bell unhitch to the floor during night time, without any sound. Pastor found that at the time of morning bell, with some blood. Church's workers bring it up and repair all damages.

First belfry were built in front of the church, made of wood, having road through and two side of stone walkways, 1 feet high connect to church. Behind the belfry have a small hang bridge connect to the wharf. How come this bell, "while new Saint Paul Church build up. Pastor Carrie order four bells for church's belfry. On sound testing, one bell sound seperated, he don't hang it up and give to Saint Roch Church later".
